Community Service Projects

The Rotary Club of Charleston takes pride in its past and current community service projects.  Projects are completed at both the local and international levels.

Local community service projects (click here to see our 2009 donations) are funded by member-directed donations and are applicable to the given year’s “theme”.  Additional local community service projects may be performed throughout the year and rely upon members’ donations of their time.

International projects (such as water projects in Ghana and Kenya) may be funded through member donations and/or through our contributions to The Rotary Foundation.

Club members are asked to contribute to these projects in two ways:
1) Giving an unspecified amount to the club directly (usually at year end), and
2) An annual contribution to the Rotary Foundation of $100.  Such giving is called sustaining membership and upon a member donating $1,000, they are recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow.
